Octa Hoodie

I love the fabric, but I found ordering the right size for me difficult.

The hood sizing states that the standard is loose fitting and the large is only really necessary with a bun or a large beanie, but I found that with my hair down and a baseball cap on the hood would not fully fit over my skull. I have to tighten the drawstring to the point it covers my chin to have the hood come forward as far as I would like on top of my head. GET an oversized hood if you have a big head!

The ordering process was also difficult for me since the sizing chart is based off of the garment size and not body size. What garment am I supposed to measure off!? My lightweight puffy or sun hoodie or wool sweater? Depending on which piece of clothing I was measuring off of I was from a small to a large. I know this might not be the same for everyone else, but a size chart with body measurements would have been significantly easier for me.

All that said, when wears out I will be buying a new one from SamBob with an oversized hood and a longer torso;)

The best new gear I bought for my through hike. It’s so warm, comfortable, and durable. Two weeks of hard, daily use and there aren’t the slightest signs of wear. The quality is excellent, the design is great, and it actually fits my odd proportions unlike so many other shirts I own. Would recommend to every other hiker.

Incredibly warm and lightweight! Love that the Octa material is a bit more rugged on the outside than Alpha. I'm still mindful of using it as an exterior layer, but I've been carrying it as a packable midlayer for adventure racing, and if it can manage some of the bushwhacking there, it's a really versatile piece for any adventures that are way less abrasive and intense.
